TAXIS

The City of Santa Monica implemented a taxi franchise system on March 1, 2011. The taxi franchise system ensures a consistently high level of taxi service in Santa Monica, to meet environmental and other goals, and to reduce the overall number of taxis to serve Santa Monica's 8.3 square miles. Only taxis from the five franchised companies can pick up customers in Santa Monica. The franchised companies are:

To ensure that the franchised companies are complying with the terms of the franchise, the City has a new taxi hotline at (310) 458-CAB4 (2224).

Taxicabs are located on Santa Monica Blvd. and Arizona Ave. just off Third Street Promenade in Downtown Santa Monica.

BUSES
Santa Monica's Big Blue Bus provides transportation services to both the local and greater Los Angeles areas.
